Future Forecast 2022
The climate is coming into sharp focus for the beverage industry in 2022, with carbon-neutrality, ecological wineries and traditional fermentation techniques all on the agenda

From packaging to ingredients sourcing, drinks brands are re-inventing themselves as zero-carbon champions. Producers are actively working to reduce the impact of their supply chain, while wineries, all too aware of climate emergency’s negative effects, are experimenting with damaged grapes.

In the vein of Total Tastes, health continues to shape drink trends, too. Emerging now are gluten-free cordials, non-alcoholic Ayurvedic tipples and next-generation vintners such as Ambijus and Acid League, whose wine proxies continue to stoke the accelerating no- and low-alcohol sector.

In our new Future Forecast 2022 report and webinar collection, we explore five trends from the Drink sector:

1. Sustainable Sips

2. Climate-adaptive Wineries

3. Remedy Drinks

4. Alternative Vintners

5. Imbibing Irony

Alongside a Viewpoint with Morgan McLachlan, master distiller and co-founder of clean botanics brand Amass, who discusses bridging the gap between self-care and social rituals.
