Overview

Global Futures Forum is our annual Strategic Foresight symposium, based upon research identified by our Trends Intelligence department, LS:N Global, it is designed to inspire, provoke and prompt action to create a better future for our clients.

Chris Sanderson,
Co-Founder, The Future Laboratory

Christopher Sanderson is co-founder of The Future Laboratory, where he is responsible for delivering the company’s extensive global roster of conferences, media events and LS:N Global Trend Briefings, which he co-presents with the team in London, New York, Sydney, Melbourne, Stockholm and Helsinki. Clients who have booked one of his inspirational keynotes include Gucci Group, the European Travel Commission, Retail Week, Selfridges, M&S, Chanel, Harrods, Aldo and H&M.

Rhiannon Mcgregor, Foresight Writer, LS:N Global

Rhiannon joined LS:N Global in 2016 and is responsible for co-running the fast-paced Briefing and Insight news sections. She also contributes across the website as a writer and researcher. Rhiannon has experience writing online for design magazines Disegno and Wallpaper*, lifestyle magazine Jocks & Nerds and art magazine Aesthetica. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Italian at Leeds University, her interest in writing prompted her to pursue a Master’s degree in Magazine Journalism at City University.

Martin Raymond, Co-Founder, The Future Laboratory

A dynamic, if reluctant presenter, Martin is editor-in-chief of LS:N Global, our online lifestyle news and consumer insight portal. Not only does he regularly contribute on trends and business to the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, he has also written and co-authored a fascinating range of books, including crEATe (Gestalten), The Tomorrow People: Future Consumers and How to Read Them Today (Financial Times Prentice Hall), and the aforementioned The Trend Forecaster’s Handbook.

Kathryn Bishop, Deputy Foresight Editor, LS:N Global

Kathryn joined LS:N Global in the spring of 2018 as its deputy editor of content, having originally worked as a senior writer within The Future Laboratory’s strategy team. With a background as a writer, editor and consultant in the luxury sector – specifically fine jewellery and watches – Kathryn is our resident luxury specialist. She also works on LS:N’s fashion content and leads its Opinion section, commissioning both internal and external viewpoints. Outside of LS:N Global, Kathryn is co-founder of the Women’s Jewellery Network, a mentor for online education platform Mastered, and a trustee of the Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council. 

 

 

Tom Savigar, Senior Partner, The Future Laboratory

Tom has guided many of The Future Laboratory’s clients through some of the most challenging market shifts and global recessions of the past 10 years. With a much-expanded team, and offices in the US and Australia, he continues to do this, working with clients as diverse as Absolut, Cadillac, The Body Shop, Lamborghini, HSBC, Courvoisier, UBS, BMW, British Gas and Marks & Spencer.

Rachael Stott, Senior Creative Researcher, LS:N Global

Rachael joined The Future Laboratory in 2014, and is responsible for leading research to identify and visually communicate global cultural trends across the lifestyle sectors. With a personal interest in conscious business, Rachael’s strength lies in translating our strategic foresight into creative visual outputs to help inspire clients to apply this thinking. As our fashion and retail expert, she has worked on projects for clients such as adidas and the British Fashion Council, and is regularly quoted as an expert in publications such as The Guardian, Retail Week and The Business of Fashion.

Jessica Smith, Creative Researcher, LS:N Global

Jessica joined The Future Laboratory in 2014 after completing a Masters degree in Trend Forecasting at the Polimoda Institute of Design and Marketing in Florence. After working at ASOS and then as a freelancer at The Future Laboratory, she became a permanent member of the team, working on client projects including Nikon, Royal Salute and QIC. 

Venues

The Future Laboratory’s home at Elder Street has its own story to tell. The Grade II-listed property is built on the site of a Roman cemetery and in the precincts of the medieval Priory and Hospital of St Mary Spital.

Located between London’s creative capital of Shoreditch and the financial heart of the city, it’s a short walk from Shoreditch High Street and Liverpool Street stations.
