Futures Scenario-Planning
What is your future going to look like in the next 5–50 years?
Our foresight and futures scenario-planning tools use research, Future:Poll™ data, storytelling and generative AI techniques to help you better imagine tomorrow so that you can rehearse and innovate for it today
Using our strategic foresight tools, Futures 1000 experts network and as much extrapolative analysis as needed from LS:N Global’s Ember AI, we build this future with you, so that you understand it from the inside out
How we deliver
We use a four-stage process to help clients to strategically harness disruption
-
Identification
We conduct a STEEP analysis, covering social, technical, economic, ecological and political factors, to map the interdependencies of our global drivers and their potential impact on the future.
-
Further Interrogation
We select members from our Futures 1000 Experts panel to stress-test our findings, and then develop and validate working hypotheses.
-
Scenario Drafting
Scenarios are developed, based on strategic building blocks. Probable, possible, problematic and prosperous scenarios are all considered.
-
Strategic Implications
Each scenario includes evidence or signals that show the ways in which much of the future is already present today and how clients can navigate change.
Dell 2035
Case Study
Seismic shifts happening today will create a long-term global impact, reshaping the way we work, live and play over the next decade. We helped Dell to identify and adapt to future opportunities and challenges to continue to thrive to 2035 and beyond.
‘The Future Laboratory did an amazing job guiding us through a far-future project. They helped us sharpen the focus on this large and ambiguous project to ensure that we had actionable output. The work they did for us will serve as a backdrop for most of our projects in the next few years. They are a pleasure to work with, in addition to being exceptional at their jobs’
