Optimised OdysseysTravel and Hospitality Futures Online Event - 24 September

2:30pm–3:30pm BST

Eastpak Resistr Case, Belgium

Travel has entered a redefining age when every element must be optimised, from planning to presence, to deliver truly purposeful, personalised and participatory experiences.

We are entering a transformative travel era in which every journey must be optimised end-to-end – whether technological, personal or financial. As travellers place growing value on their leisure time, they are seeking intelligent, intentional and immersive experiences that seamlessly blend cutting-edge technology with soulful, human-centred design. Whether through AI-driven itineraries or off-grid escapes, the future of travel is shaped by an urgent need for meaning, connection and ease.

Travel is no longer just about the destination; it’s about self-actualisation, vitality and story-rich moments that matter. Brands will act as co-pilots, offering travellers both stillness and stimulation in a world marked by flux. From emerging epicentres to a new tech-enabled travelverse, hospitality must deliver deeper value across every touchpoint.

In this macrotrend report, we explore how the new age of Optimised Odysseys will redefine the meaning of luxury, experience and identity in the global travel and hospitality landscape.

‘It’s been a year of unexpected shifts in consumer attitudes and behaviours around travel and leisure, as worldwide we see the impact of discretionary spending squeezes and the reality bite of climate change. It’s never been more important to be on top of what’s new and what’s next in customer sentiment in this all-important market sector, and The Future Laboratory’s latest report will keep you ahead of the curve.’

Chris Sanderson, co-founder, The Future Laboratory
